Make Better Home Recordings Masterclass
A hands on seminar working in a professional studio, recording and mixing over two days. You’ll be my assistant engineer on a live band recording session at the superbly equipped, Hohm Recording Studio in Bradford.
Learn how to apply the techniques used in the studio and how to achieve similar results at home, even with minimal equipment.
- Runs over two days: Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th August 2025, 11am-4pm.

Day 1
- Recording session: live band tracking and vocal overdub.
- Mic choice and placement.
- How the engineering decisions shape the final production.
Day 2
- Mixing the session from the previous day, start to finish.
- Learn the workflow, common processing techniques and also some advanced tricks.
- A chance to compare analog studio outboard with their software counterparts.
Hand Built Ribbon Mics
We are very kindly being loaned some fabulous ribbon mics from highly regarded microphone manufacturer, Extinct Audio for this session. Additionally, they are offering a 10% discount on their microphones to all attendees of the masterclass.
Masterclass Terms & Conditions
All masterclass bookings are non-refundable. If you do not attend for any reason a refund shall not be given, however, every effort will be made to offer transfers providing you are able to supply a suitable replacement attendee. You must notify me in advance of the masterclass if this is the case.
- If the masterclass needs to be rescheduled by me, you shall be notified as soon as possible. If you are unable to attend the new date and do not wish to transfer the place to someone else, or do not wish to attend, a full refund will be offered.
- If there are insufficient numbers for the masterclass to go ahead, it will be cancelled two weeks in advance of the session date. Participants will be notified via email and given the option to either receive a full refund or to be put on the waiting list for the next masterclass.
- If I must cancel a masterclass at very short notice due reasons beyond my control, such as me being ill or adverse weather conditions, then you will be offered either a full refund, or a new masterclass session date.
In the event of cancellation for any reason by me, I will not reimburse any additional costs you may incur, including but not limited to: travel, accommodation, or any other expenses incurred in relation to the cancelled masterclass.
- You may not film or photograph any part of the masterclass session unless permission is given by myself and all attendees. Notes, including images/video of relevant teaching materials will be provided my myself via email following the masterclass.
- With consent of all participants, I may take footage at the event for future advertising purposes. I will ask permission with you via email before the event.
